Traffic accidents caused by heavy fog in east China's Anhui Province have killed two people and injured several others, local traffic police said.
Rear-end collisions involving seven tractor trailers and three sedans occurred near the Lu'an City exit of the Yeji-Lu'an expressway at around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, Xinhua quoted traffic police from the city as saying.
Heavy fog reduced visibility to less than 50 meters, causing the collisions and trapping several passengers. Two of them died at the site after being rescued, said rescuer Bao Chen.
Others injured were sent to the hospital. The expressway was closed nearly five hours after the incident.
