Rescuers recovered five bodies Friday from icy waters off Russia's far eastern coast after a South Korean fishing trawler with around 60 people on board capsized this week, bringing the confirmed death toll to 25, a news report said.
According to dpa, the figure left 28 people still missing, fisheries operator Sajo Industries, which owns the boat, was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency.
No survivors have been found since Monday, when seven sailors were picked out of the waters of around zero degrees Celsius. An eighth had died of hypothermia. Rescue efforts were hampered by storm weather waves up to six metres.
A US Coast Guard ship was expected to join the search Friday, Russian media reports said Wednesday.
