Fresh air strikes by Pakistani military fighter jets have killed at least 25 suspected militants in the north Waziristan tribal area which borders Afghanistan on Tuesday.
Six terrorist hideouts, including a training camp and an explosives factory, were destroyed by the jets, according to a press release by the public relations wing of the military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
ISPR confirmed that a total 25 "foreign and local" terrorists were killed in the strikes.
The operation is progressing as per plan and the cordon around all terrorist hideouts, including the towns of Mirali and Miranshah, has been further tightened and reinforced.
Civilians in these areas have also been "safely evacuated, after their detailed verification," added the statement, with necessary logistics and administrative arrangements having been made for the internally displaced as a result.
Over 190 militants have been killed since the operation, dubbed Zarb-i-Azb, was launched on Sunday.
The operation was launched against foreign and local terrorists hiding in sanctuaries in North Waziristan, a week after a brazen insurgent attack on the country's busiest airport in Karachi city killed at least 28 people
