One person was killed in another mortar shelling of the bus station in the city of Lugansk, now the battleground between the militia of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) and the Ukrainian regular army.
Eyewitnesses told Itar-Tass on Friday that mortar shells exploded next to the bus station at a taxi stand setting ablaze a car and breaking electric wires. They also said that at least one person was killed.
The death toll is being verified.
Militiamen are mopping up the city streets looking for sabotage groups that shell the city’s residential districts.
Earlier in the day, LPR leader Valery Bolotov told a news conference that eight saboteurs had been detained.
