Explosions and gunfire erupted Friday during a major police raid on a house in a Brussels district where police earlier uncovered a bomb making factory used in this week's terrorist attacks in Brussels, Belgian state television reported.
Police have brought bomb-detection equipment to the scene in the Schaerbeek district, RTBF said.
Three of the terrorists, who killed 31 people at Brussels airport and a downtown metro stop on Tuesday, lived in an apartment in the same neighborhood.
A witness said police shot one man in the leg near a metro station.
On Wednesday, a raid on the apartment turned up a bomb making factory and the black flag of Daesh. A cab driver who drove the three terrorists to the airport tipped off police to the house.
The raid on Friday is among a wave of arrests late Thursday in Belgium and France.
Six people were detained following raids connected with the attacks, federal prosecutors in Belgium said. The arrests took place in the Jette and Schaerbeek neighborhoods of Brussels amid house-to-house searches and outside the prosecutor's office.
