Afghan security forces have pressed on to clear the militants in restive provinces and killed 30 militants in the latest operations, the country's Interior Ministry said on Friday.
"Afghan army, police and personnel of intelligence agency carried out cleanup operations in Kunduz, Baghlan, Takshar, Kunar, Zabul, Khost, Nangarhar, Helmand, Kandahar and Uruzgan provinces within the past 24 hours, killing 30 armed Taliban militants, wounding 28 and detaining six others," the ministry said in a statement providing daily operational updates.
They also found and seized weapons, the statement said, without adding if there were any casualties on the side of security forces.
The security forces also defused 22 roadside bombs and landmines recently planted by the militants over the same period, according to the statement.
The Taliban insurgent group has yet to make comments.
In an unrelated incident, a family of seven, including two women and two children were killed following a traffic accident in Qarghahi district of eastern Laghman province overnight, the provincial government said in a statement earlier on Friday.
