The Cairo Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced eight defendants, including three fugitives, to lifetime jail term over joining a terrorist group inside Egypt belonging to Daesh.
The group is seeking to commit acts of terrorism against army and police personnel and public facilities.
The prosecution has also accused the defendants of belonging to an outlawed group that is seeking to block the rules of laws and constitution and hamper State institutions from undertaking their job along with undermining personal freedoms of citizens and harming national unity and societal peace.
