6 killed in NE China building collapse

Six people have been confirmed dead and two injured after an office building collapsed Monday in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, rescuers said. The accident happened at about 7:50 a.m. when the eastern wing of a four-story office building undergoing renovation suddenly fell apart, buring at least eight people. The seven-year-old building is owned by Jixian County Water Company in the city of Shuangyashan. The two wounded people are receiving treatment at a local hospital and their injuries are not life-threatening. The rescue and search work has basically come to an end and the cause of the accident is under probe.
