At least one Indian security personnel has been killed in yet another attack by left-wing Naxalite rebels in the central state of Chhattisgarh, a senior police officer said on Monday.
"The attack on the security forces happened in the state's Kanker district late last night while troops of the Border Security Force were on patrolling duty. While one security personnel was killed in the attack, one rebel has also been killed in the ensuing gunbattle," he said, on condition of anonymity.
The latest attack came after some 500 armed Naxalite rebels on Saturday killed some seven security forces personnel and injured 11 others in the state's Sukma district.
