At least one person was confirmed dead and three others went missing as a result of the flash floods that hit the northern and northeastern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday.
Three persons were inside their car near Banja Luka, the second largest city in the country, before going missing, the Ministry said in a statement aired by Bosnian Serb TV station this evening.
The car could be washed away by the floods and they were probably killed, the statement added.
Besides, heavy material damage was caused by the floods and landslides that resulted from the torrential rain during the recent days.
The federal government declared a state of emergency in the food-hit areas.
In last May Bosnia and Herzegovina was hit by the most massive flooding in six decades.
