Thai police raided a resort in northeastern Nakhon Ratchasima province early Wednesday, killing one drug dealer in gunfire exchange after catching 30 gang members, while several managed to flee.
The raid took place at about 3:30 a.m. local time around famous Khao Yai National Park, where over 40 suspect members of a Bangkok-based drug dealer gang were reportedly attending a two-day party to thank their retailers, Thai media Thairath reported.
A total of 30 gang members were caught at the scene and drugs were found in their rooms, while some eight members fled in three cars.
Rewat Klinkesorn, commissioner of Narcotics Suppression Bureau, who arrived at the scene of the gunfight shortly afterward, said the killed suspect was a member of a major drug network in Bangkok.
