Seoul - QNA
South Korea plans to dispatch a team of government officials to the Philippines to explore ways to enhance the safety of its citizens there following the murder of a South Korean woman, South Korea’s (Yonhap) news agency reported Thursday. The plan comes a day after the death of a South Korean woman studying in the Philippines was reported. The 23-year-old college student was found dead late Tuesday after being kidnapped a month earlier. “The government is considering sending a joint inspection team of officials from the foreign ministry, the police and other government organs in order to examine the safety situation and take related measures,” an official said. South Korea’s previous safety enhancement efforts in the Southeast Asian country have been focused on preventing crimes among South Korean residents or South Korean criminals in the Philippines.
