Life in Mali returns to normal

Life began to return to normal in the Malian capital Bamako after most mutinous soldiers returned to their barracks. Work at petrol stations and markets resumed on Sunday after the military junta that ousted President Amadou Toumani Toure on Wednesday ordered all soldiers to return to their barracks. Shootings and looting were also decreased. Traffic police returned to the busy intersections and workers as well returned to the construction sites for the first time in days. In the wake of the coup, Mali has witnessed a state of lawlessness and looting.
