Israeli warplanes carried out raids on targets in Gaza, late on Friday, in the first such attack since last August.
Witnesses said the raiding aircraft attacked a military outpost used by one of the Palestinian factions west of Al-Qarrarah town, but there were no reports about casualties.
Israeli F-16 jet fighters were spotted roaring over Gaza shortly before the attack, the first of its kind since August, when Israel and the Palestinians reached a truce to halt major armed hostilities.
The Islamic movement, Hamas, which controls the enclave, and Israel agreed to a ceasefire on August 26. The Egyptian-mediated truce ended a 50-day war that claimed 2,140 Palestinians' lives. Some 73 Israelis, mostly soldiers, also lost their lives during the fighting.
