A Palestinian was shot dead early on Wednesday in clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian young men north of the West Bank city of Jenin, medics said.
Mohamed Allowneh, a 21-year-old young man, died shortly after being shot by gunfire during the clashes with the Israeli soldiers, according to Khalil Salman Hospital in the city.
Witnesses said that clashes broke out in the village of Burqin north of Jenin when Israeli army forces stormed the village to detain a Palestinian journalist and other young men who Israel said are suspects for planning attacks on Israel.
There has been no immediate Israeli army response to the incident. However, Israeli usually carries out daily raids on towns and villages in the West Bank, alleging that the soldiers are looking for Palestinian suspects.
