Israeli forces cordons off Quds Damascus Gate

Israeli occupation forces cordoned off the Damascus Gate area of the occupied Al Quds and deployed police units at gates of the Old City after an Israeli settler was injured Saturday evening in a suspected stabbing attack.

Israeli forces are currently conducting wide-scale combing operations in the area, Palestinian sources said.

Most Palestinian attacks in 2016 have been directed at Israeli military forces and settlers in the West Bank.

This was the first alleged stabbing attack in Al Quds since late December, when two Palestinians were shot and killed after stabbing two Israelis near Jaffa Gate, one of them succumbed to his wounds.
