Fatah Spokesman Fayez Abu Aita
Gaza City - Arab Today

The government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not considered a partner to attain peace, affirmed the Fatah movement.

The movement, meanwhile, called on the international community to take a strong stance which compels Israel to end occupation and establish an independent Palestinian state."We have no hope to reach a settlement through negotiations with extremist right-wing government in Israel," Fatah Spokesman Fayez Abu Aita told MENA in statements Saturday, commenting on the Israeli

government's announcement that negotiations with Palestinians are not on its agenda. "Netanyahu's government, which builds settlements, is not serious in reaching a peaceful settlement on the basis of international legitimacy resolutions and is not considered a partner to attain peace," he went on to say.

Regarding the French initiative that aims to hold an international peace conference, Abu Aita said "we welcome any political efforts exerted to jump-start negotiations based on clear terms of reference."

He further said that Palestine is in need of international support from the US and the EU in order to render the negotiations successful.Abu Aita voiced hope that France will continue its supportive stances to the Palestinian cause.
