Clashes erupted Wednesday between Palestinian worshippers who were denied access into Al-Aqsa compounds and the Israeli police.
Israeli police stepped up security measures and restrictions around Al-Aqsa and prevented Palestinian worshippers aged under 60 years from entering the compound of the mosque, forcing them to perform Al-Fajr prayers outside the complex gates.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers allowed Jewish settlers to enter the mosque via Al-Magharbeh Gate under a tight security detail.
The settlers roamed the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza under the heavy guard of Israeli police provoking the Muslim worshippers and Quran scholars stationed inside the mosque.
