Palestinian presidential adviser for Al Quds affairs Ahmed al Ruwaidi has called for internal and overseas help to support the Palestinian uprising in the holy city.
All should help to protect sanctuaries in the old city, particularly Al Aqsa Mosque, Ruwaidi said in statements to MENA on Saturday.
Al Quds is not only a city for the Palestinians, Ruwaidi said, stressing it is for all Muslims and Christians worldwide. It is high time that all moved to defend it, he noted.
The Palestinian people need the help of the Arab and Muslim worlds to overcome the current ordeal, Ruwaidi said.
They should live up to their historical responsibility toward Al Quds, he stressed.
Israel has been acting to divide Al Aqsa Mosque as Arab countries are busy solving their own domestic problems, Ruwaidi said. It has failed so far thanks to residents of Al Quds who acted to counter the Israeli plot from the first moment, he noted.
