Cairo - Arab Today

Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Planning Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh announced here on Wednesday that Kuwait got two seats in women's affairs and financial control committees of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO).
"Kuwait is keen on boosting Arab joint cooperation and integration with Arab employers and international organizations," she told KUNA, on the sidelines of the 41st session of the Arab Labor Conference being held in Cairo with participation of 21 Arab delegations and 22 Arab and international organizations.
She pointed out Kuwait regards the conference as an opportunity to reactivate cooperation with some Arab countries especially in exchanging labors and improving skills of professional safety.
"Training sessions on professional safety would be organized for Kuwaiti employees in Cairo in accordance with an agreement made between Egypt and Kuwait," the Kuwaiti official said following her meeting with Egypt's Manpower Minister Nahed Al-Ashry.
"There would be a technical mechanism connected with a network at Ministry of Labor to help employers present their vacant jobs," she said, adding that move enables also the government and Ministry's employees to register people applying for jobs in Kuwait.
She added that mechanism will facilitate recruiting Egyptian workers in Kuwait and boost cooperation between the two ministries.
"I discussed with Moroccan Minister of Labor the possibility of exchanging labor cooperation," Al-Sabeeh said, indicating she invited Moroccan official to visit Kuwait next February.
A series of meetings would be held with representatives of Somalia and Sudan on the sidelines of the 41st session of the Arab Labor Conference to discuss the means of bolstering labor collaboration, she added.
Minister Al-Sabeeh stressed Kuwait's keenness on preserving rights of foreign workers in Kuwait; as a result the participating delegations and organizations in conference praised that move.
