UAE launches innovation guide for companies

An innovation guide for companies operating in the UAE has been launched by the Ministry of Economy to promote a culture of innovation and increase awareness regarding the importance of research and development, R&D, for businesses and the entire economy, the Ministry announced on Monday.

The guide, prepared in collaboration with the National Research Centre of Italy or CNR, falls in three chapters, providing companies the know-how and guidelines to promote innovation at all levels - from management to marketing - and save time and efforts while enhancing competitiveness, quality and efficiency, said Humaid Ali bin Butti Al Muhairi, Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy for Commercial Affairs and Consumer Protection Sector.

The guide, launched to coincide with the UAE Innovation Week 2016 that started on 20th November, draws on successful experiences in Canada, Sweden, South Korea, Germany, Japan and China, he noted.

The Ministry will organise workshops and activities throughout 2017 to introduce the guide to involved companies, Al Muhairi said.
