The UAE is committed to implementing the Federal Law No. 2 of 2015 against Discrimination and Hatred, according to Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance.
Sheikha Lubna said that the law enforcement agencies, including the ministries of interior and justice and the public prosecution, were strictly enforcing the law, which specifically prohibits all forms of discrimination on the basis of religion, belief, sect, faith, creed, race, colour or ethnic origin.
She also noted that the hashtag #tolerance_unites_us launched on the International Day for Tolerance on 16th November had attracted 71 million viewers, an indication of the UAE's regional and global status as a haven for tolerance, co-operation and solidarity.
''All spectrums of the local community have interacted enthusiastically and unprecedentedly on the Tolerance Day,'' she added.
