Abu dhabi - Arab Today

The UAE Commemoration Day is an opportunity to celebrate the sacrifices made by the martyrs to protect the glory, assets and gains of the country while performing their duties in the fields of honour, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, and Chairman of the Board of Director of National Media Council, NMC, said on Tuesday.

"Nations are built by the determination and sacrifices of their men, and the martyrs are the symbol of manhood and sacrifice. They held the UAE flag high in the field of duty, thanks to their courage and determination," he said in a statement, marking the occasion of the UAE Commemoration Day, which falls on 30th November.

Describing the UAE as home for tolerance, the Minister said that the people stand united with the wise leadership to immortalise the sacrifice and heroism of the martyrs who have written a chapter in history with their blessed blood. "Our pledge to the nation and the leaders is that we will always remain loyal and prepared to respond to the call of duty and offer our lives to protect the security and stability of our beloved nation."

Sacrifices made by the martyrs in military, civil and humanitarian fields are not unusual for the people of our generous country, he said, adding, "Today, our country’s glory and high stature are being protected by men who sacrifice everything, however precious, to keep the UAE a haven for progress and prosperity."

The Commemoration Day is also an opportunity for all Emiratis to show their pride in the Armed Forces who are protecting and strengthening the country and gains while protecting the safety of Emirati men and women, he noted.

"We express our thanks, appreciation and gratitude to them," Al Jaber said.
