Tunis - KUNA

Tunisian Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa left the country on Saturday to head to UAE as his first pit stop in a tour designed to include all of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. Before leaving, Jomaa told the press that the purpose of the tour is to boost cooperation, especially in the political and economic realms, with the GCC countries. The Tunisian Premier had previously visited both Algeria and Morocco as part of his country's policy to enhance its political relations with the Arab world. Jomaa will not be visiting Oman in his Gulf tour. "It is not easy to visit many countries in a short period of time," he pointed out. Nonetheless, "Oman's visit will be rescheduled." During his tour, the Tunisian Prime Minister will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Munji Hamdi, Minister of Economic and Finance Hakim Ben Hammouda and other businessmen.
