The Centre of Waste Management, Abu Dhabi (Tadweer), announced the launch of a three-month awareness campaign in the Western Zone of Abu Dhabi’s main island, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Municipality and Averda, the municipal waste services contractor for the Western Zone.
"The campaign aims to promote waste reduction, reuse, recycle and sorting at source, and to foster a community that is aware of the significance of these concepts, in line with Tadweer’s vision, mission and corporate values of sustainability, excellence, innovation and social responsibility," said Nayel Rashed Al Shamsi, Project Manager, Tadweer.
"The campaign is part of a series of awareness initiatives organised by Tadweer to develop a sustainable waste management culture among the residents of Abu Dhabi. It is crucial to maintain the cleanliness of the emirate, in line with Abu Dhabi Vision and Plan," he added.
The campaign is expected to be successful, while raising environmental awareness, improving social conduct and increasing the revenue from material recovery. Tadweer will be conducting similar campaigns in other sectors across the Emirate.
In line with its current mission, the company is working on developing and delivering integrated waste management and public health pest control systems at the highest internationally recognised standards. This will be achieved by investing in specialised assets and human resources, and by utilising the latest technological solutions, to promote environmental sustainability and achieve excellent customer satisfaction.
