Dubai Criminal Court
Dubai - ArabToday

A young man stabbed his housemate because he was not helping him cut vegetables for dinner, a court has heard.
Dubai Criminal Court was told the incident happened at 8pm on August 1 last year at a Muraqqabat home where both Pakistanis lived with their families.
"My son bought the groceries and left them in the kitchen, then the defendant called him," said the 40-year-old father of the victim.
"When my son went to see what the accused wanted, they argued because the defendant couldn’t find the green bell peppers.
He said that, as his son was leaving the kitchen and heading to his bedroom the attacker, 20, called for him again and when the victim turned around, he was stabbed twice.
Police were called and the victim was take to hospital for treatment. A medical report said that he now suffers a 20 per cent permanent disability.
The defendant denied a physical assault charge in court on Sunday morning, saying the assault happened by mistake and that he had paid for the victim’s treatment costs and obtained a waiver from the victim’s father.
