President Abdel Fattah el Sisi discussed Sunday the efforts on combating corruption, the recent economic situation and developments with regard to other issues.
This was during his meeting with the prime minister, governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, ministers of defense, interior, foreign affairs, finance, and supply, along with the heads of intelligence and Administrative Control Authority, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Sisi stressed the importance of combating all kinds of corruption within the state institutions, as it causes economic losses that badly affect the state and the citizens alike.
The president also reviewed the recent economic decisions, including liberalization of the Egyptian pound, in addition to the decisions taken by the Supreme Investment Council in its first meeting last week with the aim of luring more investments into the country.
Sisi directed the ministers to expand the social protection networks to ease the brunt of such economic decisions on the low-income brackets.
