President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday stressed that the economic projects carried out by the Armed Forces mainly aim at preserving the Egyptians' national security.
Sisi's statements were made on the sidelines of the ceremony held Saturday, during which he inaugurated expansions of El Nasr Co. for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC) in Giza's district of Abu Rawash.
He inaugurated a new factory that is meant to produce 85 tons of chlorine and caustic soda daily.
The new factory will help double the total annual production of chlorine and caustic soda to hit 50,000 tons.
Sisi said the Armed Forces contribution to national economy represents 1.5 to 2 percent.
The President affirmed that the state and the Armed Forces are one entity, noting that the Armed Forces are not working away from the civil sector.
The projects being implemented nationwide should be monitored by governors, military zone commanders and specialists, Sisi said.
Meanwhile, he stressed the state's support for private investment, highlighting the importance of offering incentives to investors.
Sisi asked about the date of finalizing the Ain Sokhna fertilizers project, Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals Board Chairman Mokhtar Abdel said the project will be finalized in June 2018.
Separately, Sisi ordered a panel - comprising the Military Engineering Authority, the Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University and the Administrative Control Authority - to prepare a report within 15 days on the efficiency of irrigation and sanitation stations in Alexandria, Beheira and Gharbiya governorates.
A sum of EGP one billion was allocated for renovating such stations, the president said.
Sisi urged all officials to work efficiently and observe their conscience while doing their jobs.
