President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt is waging a real war against terror.
During a phone call with Kol Youm program presented by TV anchor Amr Adib, Sisi said the operations in the state are similar to those in the period from 1967 to 1970.
The president added that the current situation necessitates closing ranks among all state segments in the face of terror and its challenges.
He added that these operations cost a lot, adding that terror has receded and millions of dollars that went into the hands of terrorists was seized over the past three months.
He added that more than 1000 tons of explosives were destroyed in Sinai.
Sisi added that the cost of the war against terror over the past three years and a half was not only money, the state has, however, encumbered the loss of security personnel and civilians.
Sisi said "the measures taken were very harsh, but the Egyptians are vigilant and keen on protecting their nation."
The president concluded his speech by saying that "the battle is not a battle of a president, government, army or police, it is the battle of all Egyptians," urging Egyptians to unite.
