
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended on Tuesday the graduation ceremony of a new batch of the Police Academy at its premises in New Cairo.
Upon his arrival to the academy, the president was received by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, former president Adly Mansour, Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghafar, Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb and Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese.
General Commander of the Armed Forces and Defense and Military Production Minister Sedqi Sobhi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Mahmoud Hegazy, Presidential Adviser for National Projects Ibrahim Mahlab and Chairman of the Police Academy Maj. Gen. Mohamed El Sherbiny also received the president upon his arrival.
The ceremony began by playing the national anthem.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Police Academy Maj. Gen. Mohamed El Sherbiny thanked the interior minister and security apparatus for fulfilling their mission in line with the principle of the rule of law that is compatible with the political, social and economic reform plans.
The Police Academy's mission is developing skills and capabilities of its cadets, Sherbiny said.
He also underlined that the academy signed a cooperation protocol with the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) with the view to obtaining the institutional and educational accreditation for the academy's education and training system.
During the ceremony, the Police Academy cadets presented a parade while they are riding horses and jumping over barriers with the height ranging from 120-140 cm.
They also performed a parade of using sniffer dogs to help in the crime detection.
The students also presented a military parade using the latest equipment and vehicles.
Students from the Egyptian Military Academy also took part in the military parade.
President Sisi conferred the second class Order of Distinction on the top graduates of the Police Academy, the Post-Graduate Studies College and the Police Research Center.
The ten top graduates of the Police Academy are all from Egypt, except one from Palestine.
The top graduates of the Post-Graduate Studies College are Amr Ibrahim Aboud Abo Amer (Egypt) and Firas Saad Abdul Qadir (Palestine).
While the three top graduates of the Police Research Center are from Uganda, Guinea Conakry and Ukraine.
