Let the state assume its role and end a defacto rule deemed responsible for widespread socio-economic deterioration, head of the pro-Hariri parliamentarian Future Block Fouad Siniora alluded to yesterday's drowning of Lebanese asylum seekers in Indonesia. The tragic incident and drowning of Lebanese may be largely attributed to increasingly deteriorating socio-economic conditions against the backdrop of absence of basic human rights, Siniora informed a press conference at his Hlaliyyeh office Saturday. The Syrian army has been sponsored by the Arabs in the defence against Israel and for safeguarding domestic peace, order and democracy rather than benefiting Israel by killing the people, Siniora added. Agreement between super powers to eliminate Assad's chemical weapons is insufficient with ongoing bloodshed. Therefore, our aspiration is to witness an early end to the destructive war by the international community, Siniora concluded.
