
Israeli settlers attacked Saturday farmers in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, while they worked in their land located near the illegal settlement of Beit Ain, according to a local activist.Muhammad Awad, member of the anti-settlements committee, told WAFA that dozens of armed settlers attacked the farmers and threw stones at them forcing them to leave their land.He said Israeli army units who were in the area did not intervene to stop the settlers.Awad said the settlers came to the land after the farmers had left it and cut down olive trees.He said the army and a police force that also came to the area did nothing to stop the settlers.
