
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa deputized today Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa to attend HM the King’s Cup championship. The sporting event, held under the patronage of HM the King, coincides with the BDF’s 49th anniversary. The Royal Special Force clinched the 2017 trophy.
The BDF Commander-in-Chief presented medals and prizes of appreciation to the winners in various disciplines, hailing the efforts of the organisers of the competitions to ensure success of the event. He also congratulated all participants for their outstanding performance, stressing that BDF will spare no effort in backing military sport and developing it.
The championship was attended by Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council Lieutenant General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, Defence Minister Lieutenant General Yusef bin Ahmed Al Jalahma, Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dhiab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, General Command Court Director Major General Hassan Mohammed Sa’ad, Inspector General Major General Abdullah Hassan Al Nuaimi and senior officers.
