The Human Resources Department in Ras al-Khaimah has launched the first comprehensive smart reading application in the UAE called "Our Resources Read".

The application provides various reading services and is considered to be among the department’s creative initiatives in the promotion of reading for all employees of the Ras al-Khaimah government. The department launched the application in coordination with the e-Government in Ras Al Khaimah.

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Khalifa, Director-General of Department, highlighted the department’s efforts in launching the smart applications, developing its services and introducing new services, in keeping with the vision of the UAE leadership and the directives of the government to establish smart applications for all services.

Badria Ali Al Mazrouei, Deputy Director-General of the Department, said that the application provides 10 smart services, and would enable employees to read books on their smart phones.

She added that the application was developed by specialists over a 10 month period, and it is available in English and Arabic, noting that users would be granted free downloading.

Al Mazrouei said that the application provides various books in different fields: Islamic Sharia, law, human resources, management and business administration, sciences, technology, history and politics, in addition to health and safety, self- development, family, and society.

The application also allows users to add suggestions for books, in addition to annual and monthly reading competitions, statistics, and ratings to measure the reading among employees in each department.
