
Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed a number of agreements with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Qatar Charity (QC) and Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF), to unite efforts for funding USD 9 million-worth projects for alleviating Iraqi people suffering.
The agreements come in the context of QFFD's commitment to assist Iraqi people and provide assistance to Iraqi through supporting families affected by the conflict in the country.
The Agreements were signed by QFFD's Executive Director of Project Development Misfir Hamad Al Shahwani, QC's International Development Executive Director Mohammed Ali Al Ghamidi, QRCS's Secretary-General Ali bin Hassan Al Hammadi and RAF's Financial Resources Development Director Eng. Ahmed Yousef Fakhru.
QFFD's Executive Director of Project Development Misfir Hamad Al Shahwani said that the projects will help alleviate the suffering of those affected by the humanitarian crisis in the city of Mosul and its surrounding, due to the ongoing armed conflict. He stressed that the relief stems from the State of Qatar's keenness on assisting Iraqi people.
He pointed out that this agreement which falls within the humanitarian response plan that has been prepared by the QFFD, which also includes emergency relief to the city of Fallujah, a grant for the relief of the Syrian people and urgent relief for the besieged city of Aleppo.
