Premier lauds Saudi leadership's support for Bahrain

 His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has lauded Saudi leadership's firm approach in supporting Bahrain since the era of the late Founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud until the present era of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
HRH the Prime Minister extolled the King Abdullah Medical City project, which, he said, bears a beloved name, serves a noble goal, reflects the status of Bahrain in the hearts of Saudi Kings, translates the exemplary Bahraini-Saudi cooperation and proves the reciprocal altruism between the two brotherly countries.
The Prime Minister made the statements while receiving the Education Minister and Chairman of the High Education Council, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Noaimi, and Arabian Gulf University (AGU) President, Dr. Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al Ohali, at the Gudaibiya Palace today.
AGU President gave HRH Premier a detailed explanation about the King Abdullah Medical City project, which will be run by AGU, and built on a One-million-square-metre plot of land donated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
HRH Premier was informed about the detailed designs of the huge educational and medical projects, as well as a video presentation on the project's various phases.
Phase one of the project entails a university hospital with a capacity of 288 beds, 11 operating rooms, a building for medical clinics and a building for medical services.
The phase also includes the construction of excellence centres specialised in research on diseases prevailing in the GCC region, such as cancer, diabetes and obesity.
The world-standard medical city was designed to serve Bahrain and other GCC countries.
HRH Premier stressed that the project should be implemented according to the highest levels given the name it is carrying and his efforts in the service of the entire humanity.
The Prime Minister approved the detailed designs of the first phase of the project which will cost BD 100 million, noting that the whole project will create more than 1200 job opportunities after its completion.
He affirmed that the project is a milestone in the history of the exemplary Bahraini-Saudi relations.
HRH the Prime Minister expressed pride in the kingdom's hosting of such a huge educational and medical project that will support the government's programmes to advance treatment methods based on a solid educational and research foundations.
The Prime Minister also thanks and gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its constant support to Bahrain in various fields.
Education Minister and AGU President extended thanks and appreciation to HRH Premier for his unwavering support to the King Abdullah Medical City project, which, they said, reflects his strong support to joint Bahraini-Saudi ventures, and embodies his efforts to boost the educational march, including university medical education.
