Palestinian minister briefs Arab League chief on prisoners

Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Araby met here on Wednesday visiting Palestinian Minister of Prisoners and Detainees Issa Qaraqeh on the conditions and sufferings of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. During the meeting, they discussed violations committed by Israeli occupying authorities against Palestinian prisoners, especially those who have been on hunger strike, the league said in a statement. The meeting comes as the league is set to hold a meeting of permanent Arab representatives later today upon a Palestinian request in order to discuss Israel's inhuman practices against Palestinian prisoners
