Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and his 24 cabinet ministers were sworn in Thursday in Ramallah in front of President Mahmoud Abbas, according to the official WAFA news agency. The new government is composed of the same ministers from the outgoing government, which resigned on June 21. Abbas asked Hamdallah, who served as caretaker after his resignation, to form a new government five weeks ago. Hamdallah and Abbas are going to travel to New York on Saturday to attend sessions at the UN General Assembly and a meeting for donor countries. While in New York, Abbas will also meet Monday with US President Barack Obama.
