Palestine’s ambassador to Malaysia, Anwar Agha, praised on Saturday what he described as the “honorable decision” by Malaysia at the United Nations Security Council, which he said shows its interest in the Palestinian cause.
Malaysia was one of four countries that adopted the anti-settlement resolution after Egypt withdrew it and which passed by a vote of 14 to 0 with one abstention.
Agha said Malaysia moved fast and coordinated with New Zealand, Senegal and Venezuela to adopt the resolution.
He said Malaysia has always supported the Palestinian cause and supports Palestinian right to end the Israeli occupation and establish the independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
