No vote violations registered in Alexandria

Alexandria Governor Tarek El-Mahdi said no violations were reported on the first day of a vote in the constitutional referendum in Egypt's second-largest city. "Alexandria's operation room has not received any report of violation," the governor said. He said people are casting their ballots in a smooth way amid a heavy voter turnout. The three million voters in Alexandria are set to vote in 17 polling stations. The voters will cast their ballots amid high security measures by police and armed forces. The new charter aims to replace the constitution passed under deposed president Mohammed Morsi.
