
Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal issued directives on Tuesday to the parliament constitutional and legislative affairs committee to consider a bill presented by MP Alaa Abdel Meneem and others on citizenship and non-discrimination.
The speaker's decision came after reports that some MPs withdrew their signatures on the bill.
MP Abdel Meneem said at the start of the session that he presented the bill in May on the citizenship and non-discrimination signed by 61 MPs and that the bill was debated by the constitutional committee but some MPs withdrew their signature.
