Moroccan Monarch, Jordanian King Hold Talks
Rabat - Arab Today

Moroccan Monarch Mohammed VI held talks here on Thursday with Jordanian King Abdullah II on bilateral ties and latest developments in the Middle East.
According to Jordanian Petra news agency, the two leaders voiced hope that the upcoming Arab Summit, which will convene in Jordan next week, would crystallize a joint Arab vision towards various crises and challenges facing the region. Talks also reiterated the importance of taking practical steps to enhance the joint Arab action, serving the interests of Arab countries.
High on the agenda of the talks were means to bolster cooperation between the two countries and build on outcomes of the joint Jordanian-Moroccan Higher Committee, which convened in Rabat last year.
King Abdullah and King Mohammed spoke about issues on the agenda of the Arab Summit, mainly the peace process, Jerusalem, Iraqi national reconciliation, the latest developments in Syrian and Libya, as well as efforts to fight terrorism.
Talks touched on efforts to relaunch effective and serious talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis, based on the two-state solution, as the only means to end the conflict.
On Jerusalem, the two leaders underlined the importance of keeping the historical and legal status quo in the city, while warning against any attempts to change facts on the ground.
They also discussed the Syrian crisis and underscored the importance of finding a political solution to the crisis, maintaining the Arab nation's unity and integrity. Further, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in Iraq and Libya, where they affirmed support to Iraqi national reconciliation efforts.
On Libya, King Abdullah praised the role played by Morocco to find a political solution to the situation in Libya. The two leaders touched on terrorism and regional and international efforts to fight this phenomenon, which has escalated to becoming a global threat.
