The 41st meeting of the Committee of Senior Arab Officials in charge of Nuclear Weapons and other Weapons of Mass Destruction kicked off on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Arab League General Secretariat.
The meeting is following up the implementation of the previous meeting's recommendations and reviewing recommendations in the AL Secretary General report on the outcome of a meeting of the elders panel on nuclear non-proliferation.
The meeting also mulls preparations for the Preparatory Committee for the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), set for Vienna from May 2 to 12, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference in September.
