Libya restores diplomatic ties with Iraq

Libya has restored full diplomatic relations with Iraq more than eight years after cutting off ties. Tripoli plans to send an ambassador to Baghdad. The two countries discussed the issue in October, when a delegation headed by then Libyan interim premier Mahmud Jibril traveled to Baghdad. The decision to restore ties was taken on Thursday, Iraq's Deputy Foreign Minister Labid Abbawi told AFP.
