
A senior Kuwaiti and regional sports official on Sunday praised the UAE for supporting education, women's empowerment and the welfare of children.
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, extend continuous support to women and children in all spheres, with a focus on early childhood and education, President of Kuwaiti Women Sports Federation Sheikha Naima Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah noted in a statement to Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the Fatima bint Mubarak Motherhood and Childhood Forum.
Sheikha Naima, who also chairs the Women Sports Organising Committee at the Gulf Cooperation Council and the women’s sports committee at the West Asian Athletics Association, further noted that projects and initiatives backed by Sheikha Fatima help empower women in the UAE, the region and beyond.
She also said that she was proud to participate in the forum, a global platform aimed at deepening dialogue and understanding, while boosting progress for human societies around the world.
