
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior snubbed reports that Iraqi military troops were deployed in the south of the country, near the borders with Kuwait.
There are no Iraqi military moves, mobilization or deployment on the border, Assistant Undersecretary for land borders security Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al Muhanna said, according to Kuwait's official news agency (KUNA).
He stressed that Kuwaiti border security personnel are properly doing their duties and well aware of their due responsibilities. Iraqi Defense ministry also denied any troops deployment or military formations near the borders with Kuwait.
