The Moroccan Monarch, King Mohammed VI, has invited the Ghanaian President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to visit his “second country” at his earliest convenience.

Earlier on Thursday, toward the end of his official visit to the Republic of Ghana, King Mohammed VI sent a letter to Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, asking him to pay an official visit to Morocco.

“With my belief that you share with me the same impression and orientation, I am pleased to extend to your Excellency an invitation to visit the kingdom of Morocco, at your earliest convenience,” stated King Mohammed VI.

The letter adds that the Ghanaian President’s visit to “[his] second country, Morocco, will represent an opportunity to continue the political discussion around issues pertaining to the continent, and will consolidate the gains realized” during the King’s official visit to the republic of Ghana, which began on February 16.

The Moroccan Monarch further asserted that his first visit since his coronation to Ghana “has opened wide and promising horizons” ahead for the Moroccan-Ghanaian relations.

“The in-depth constructive talks that we conducted, and the identical views that characterized them, in regards to the diverse bilateral and regional issues, and the important agreements that were signed, has enabled us to lay solid bases for the work of the economic operators in the two countries,” asserts the letter, noting that these will improve bilateral relations in various fields.

During the visit, the Moroccan Monarch and the Ghanaian President chaired the signing of 27 agreements pertaining to government in addition to public-private agreements.
