Jordan and Iraq underlined the need of promoting bilateral ties in energy and petroleum sphere.

The two countries asserted the importance of implementing the project of oil and gas pipelines through Jordanian Aqba port.

This came during talks held Monday between Iraqi Oil Minister Jabar al Luaibi with Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ibrahim Saif.

Luaibi, meanwhile, hailed the close ties binding Iraq and Jordan, adding that his country is keen on implementing this project through the efforts of the joint committees.

The Jordanian minister, for his part, voiced the keenness of the Jordanian companies on promoting ties with Iraq in the various spheres.

The meetings held with officials at the Iraqi oil ministries were fruitful, he added.
