Baghdad - KUNA

Parliament members of the Iraqi Motahidon Alliance, which is led by house Speaker Osama Al-Nujaifi, on Monday submitted resignations in protest against the current events in Anbar province. Spokesman for the Motahidon Alliance Thafer Al-Ani told a press conference in Al-Nujaifi's house: "The MPs within Motahidon Alliance have submitted their resignations to the parliament speaker." Al-Nujaifi, on his part, said he would remain in his post, but he quitted the so-called documents of honor and social peace as they were breached by one of the parties involved, referring to Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki. The unbinding documents were hammered out by political rivals several months ago in an effort to achieve national reconciliation in the country. Earlier in the day, at least 10 people were killed in clashes that erupted when Iraqi policemen moved to disperse a Sunni Muslim protest camp in the country's western Anbar province.
