The hosting of the International Defence Exhibition, IDEX 2017, and the Naval Defence Exhibition, NAVDEX, the naval defence and maritime security section of the tri-service exhibition, in Abu Dhabi, reflects international acknowledgement of the UAE capital's strategic position in various areas, Mohamed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Media, said today.
Abu Dhabi is constantly promoting its presence and position at various levels, especially in the field of industrial multi-purpose exhibitions that act as important platforms for enriching both national and international expertise, Al Mahmood said.
Abu Dhabi also lays emphasis on presenting the most advanced technologies from the world’s developed countries, he added.
The IDEX exhibition is being held at a time when the UAE’s leading role is being highlighted, in light of the efforts by the current Arab alliance to regain constitutional legitimacy in Yemen, he noted.
Al Mahmood highlighted the efforts being made by the UAE to portray a responsible image of itself as well as its prominent position that is in compliance with the directives of the UAE leadership, UAE Vision 2021 and the Abu Dhabi Plan, while taking into account the growing importance of the exhibition.
The continuity of IDEX proves its strength and success as an important international economic, technical and tourism event, he added while stressing the importance of the show as a civilised forum where visitors are introduced to the UAE’s strength, society and strategic regional stature.
Abu Dhabi Media is working hard to strengthen its national role by contributing to the documentation of this event through television, radio and digital media, in addition to a live broadcast of this important event, Al Mahmood said.
